Eating Disorders

If you're struggling with an eating disorder, a therapist can provide valuable support in developing new insight and self-awareness. Through therapy, you can gain a deeper understanding of how the eating disorder has impacted your life, the purpose it has served, and discover effective coping strategies to address your needs.


Body

Image

When we are young, we are frequently bombarded with messages that label our bodies as inadequate or "less than". This harmful narrative often stems from societal issues like misogyny, toxic masculinity, transphobia, racism, ableism, and other forms of oppression.

At Blossom Counselling Centre, our therapists specialize in a social justice-informed approach to body image therapy. We assist you in understanding how your experience is influenced by these oppressive systems, guiding you to develop a more compassionate connection with your body.


Anxiety

Anxiety serves an important purpose: it allows us to anticipate and detect threats to our safety. However, sometimes, our nervous system starts overestimating threats, and we are left with overwhelming anxiety. Psychotherapy can help you build your sense of safety through increasing your awareness of your nervous system’s responses, developing ground skills, and nurturing supportive relationships.


Self-Esteem

At times, our mental health struggles can be rooted in our difficulties seeing our worth. This is understandable given the many pressures and expectations we face from our families, workplaces, and communities. Our therapists can help you untangle these pressures from what you truly value, so that you can live a life that feels authentic and whole.

Fees

Psychotherapy sessions are $125-180 per 50-60 minute session and vary by provider.

Payments can be made by e-transfer or credit card and are due on the day of service.

Some insurance companies offer coverage for services offered by a Registered Psychotherapist or Registered Social Worker. Please contact your insurance provider for more information.
