Curiosity:

Group Supervision
for Radical Dietitians

Cultivating Curiosity is a space for radical and inclusive dietitians to enhance their knowledge, skills, and confidence in their practice.

Join Josée Sovinsky, RD, RP and Lori Short-Zamudio, RD as they explore challenges and worries progressive dietitians commonly face when supporting individuals with eating disorders, intuitive eating, and body image.

What is group supervision?

Group supervision is a brave space where dietitians:

● Discuss challenges they are facing in their practice
● Unlearn harmful practices
● Increase their understanding of social justice issues in nutrition and dietetics
● Develop self-awareness
● Offer each other support
● Share strategies and tools

Through vulnerable sharing and compassionate support, dietitians can tackle imposter syndrome and feel more equipped to support their clients.

What topics will be explored?

● Offering supportive, inclusive, and compassionate eating disorder care to people with various disordered eating experiences, including anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, other specified eating and feeding disorders (OSFED), and more.

● Counselling skills to better meet clients where they are, build trusting therapeutic relationships, and help them move towards recovery.

● Incorporating justice-oriented values in dietetic practice, including a weight-inclusive approach, gender and sexuality affirming care, trauma-informed care, and a neurodiversity-affirming framework.

Session topics will be led by participant interest. All participants will get an opportunity to submit a case study for discussion.
